Eccentric Child

Hello Everyone:

A good but hot day today. The good part was I applied for an assistant editor job at a local museum, made a new connection, and published a post despite being in a WiFi black hole. The only downside is it's so freakin' hot. I'm really so over this hot weather. I'm daydreaming of rain. It doesn't help when the stores are carrying sweaters, coats, and boots. This is some sort of fashion prank, right.  The minion (my youngest nephew) has his own way of giving the middle finger salute to the hot weather-he bundles up. That's right, you read correctly he dresses warmly for school. He does this on all types of weather. I mean getting to wear shorts and t-shirts to summer camp took some effort. Now that he's back at school it's long sleeve shirts and a zippered cardigan. His school has a dress code-the boys must wear long trousers and shirts with collars. Short sleeve shirts are permitted.  The minion goes overboard. I think the zippered cardigan is his new security blanket. When he was a baby and toddler he took his baby blanket with him everywhere. He stopped doing it when he started pre-school but replaced with sweatshirts and sweaters. His parents aren't making a big deal of it mainly because they just don't have time to argue about in the morning. Mom, on the other hand, threatened to make him stay in school until he took off the cardigan. I think she would've ripped off him if he didn't remove it. I see hours on a therapist couch in his future. Hey as long as he's not chopping off Barbie doll heads in his room, it's good.
