She's Leaving Home

Hello Everyone:

It's another hot and humid day today. I am just too tired to do anything beyond what I've accomplished. What have I done today?  Oh just the usual Thursday chores, you know: dust, vacuum, and laundry. I seriously cannot wait for this hot weather to finally go away. If I could, I would transport myself to some place cooler.  Mom is on the warpath about having PLB management install an air conditioner in the house. Frankly, I'm fine without it and besides, but I don't think mom wants the extra expense on the electric bill. Of course, I'm not about to let on that I sleep nude and have no trouble with being at a comfortable body temperature.  Sis texted me yesterday about a Bon voyage lunch, on Saturday, for my niece. I think it'll be nice to go over and wish her well. I don't think it's sunk in for my sister and BIL that their first born is leaving home. It may hit them after they drop her off at the airport Saturday night. I have a feeling that mom will insist on on going with them. Fine. I like having the place to myself. I don't think it's hit my niece yet that she's leaving home. I'm sure it will once she and her friends are in the air. It's a big step for her. I remember when I moved to the Bay Area, mom put up a fuss and then begged me to come home after a few weeks. I can only imagine what would happen if I left home now. Moved across the country or to the UK. I don't think she'd hav too much of an issue if moved to the East Coast for work because I have relatives there. The U.K. would be a different story. There seems to be a rash of relatives dealing with girls moving out. Two of my cousins have daughters the same age as my niece who are also starting college. One in Arizona and the other in Upstate New York. Good for them. I think my niece will be fine.
