A Little Romance

Hello Everyone:

All is back to normal in my love life. At least, as normal as it gets. The Brit BF and I were exchanging flirty messages today. It was a lot fun. He such a great person to flirt with because he can make even the naughtiest innuendo sound like poetry. Not that I'm any slouch in the the flirty message/text/email department either. I just have a different style that can get him interested. It's all for a good cause, keeping the romance alive. It's one of those things that all the self-help manuals tell you to do.  Keep the romance alive.  Flowers and baubles are nice (and necessary) but knowing your partner still wants you is even better. Let's what happens over the long haul. Although, I'm going to go out on limb and say that if we're still together in another year or two, I think we'll be able to keep the fire alive.  What makes this relationship work for me is that if feels right. We have this emotional intimacy that comes with sharing our lives with each other. I still crave the physical intimacy but I think that once we are together, it'll be the best love making experience I'll have. I never understood why some people allow the romance in their relationship to die. I mean I can understand that life gets in the way and any thoughts of making some attempt to show your partner that you still find them the hottest thing go out the window. However, just because you have to deal with work-the children-the house et cetera doesn't mean you should take your partner for granted. We all have needs and one those needs is the knowledge that your significant other is still hot for you even when you first roll out of bed in the morning. My guy is good like that and he makes me laugh. This relationship, in its own way, feels right. We still have quite a distance to go before we make permanent. For all my initial discomfort and hesitations, I'm feeling like he could be the one. Wow that's weird. Weird in a good way. Only time will tell if this feeling becomes fact.
