I'd Rather Do Other Things

Hello Everyone:

Wow, what a historic day. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton became the first woman, of any major party, to secure the nomination for President of the United States. It becomes official in July at the Democratic National Covention. The whole thing is starting to settle in. It sounds like I'm making a big deal but it is. History happens all the time, sometimes in small ways and sometimes in big ways.  This is a big thing. There's still another five months to go but right now, it's time to savor the moment.  Anyway, it was a good day overall. I posted a photo blog of the voting experience. I told a couple of people that they would be famous on my blog. I had a little technical difficulty uploading the photos because of a slow server connection but I overcame it. I finished early so I got a errand done. Tomorrow it's back to status quo. Lately, status quo is preparing for the latest Jewish holiday. Sis is planning a family luncheon on Sunday and invited me. Nice of her but I really haven't considered the idea.  I usually have other things on my mind than social engagements. Mom is pushing me to go. It's not what I want to do-give up a Sunday afternoon pretending to enjoy myself with people I mildly tolerate. I mean it's not like I have anything to say to them beyond the basics. Maybe that's enough. Mom is also insisting I come on time-owing to my habit of showing up late. About that, I do it deliberately because the less time I spend with them, the better. It's a passive aggressive thing. I'd rather do other things than get dressed up and have some family time.
