Hello Everyone:
A good day in the blogosphere for me. I started writing a post on a California ballot initiative that would impact the future of planning and development. So far, neither side has made a convincing argument. I'll pick it up either tomorrow or Monday, depending on how I'm feeling. Right now, I feel like poop. I have a sore thoart and feel congested. It's either the start of a cold (just what I don't need) or allergies (manageable). To make matters worse, I've had this painful thing in my right ear. My ear has been swollen, sore, there was blood mixed in with ear wax (gross). It's a little better now. The swelling has gone down and the fluid is draining out. It's still painful inside the canal. I have no clue as to what happened. All I know is something got in my ear, swelled up, then burst. I'm trying not to touch it but sometimes it's too much. Enough about that, let's talk about something less disgusting. I've started to get in touch with some newspapers in the UK to introduce myself. It's the first step in putting my dream of working in a foreign country into action. I pretty sure that some of the larger publications have American bureaus, if not in Los Angeles, then on the East Coast. I'm trying to pitch myself as someone who can bring a fresh perspective on some the issues facing British architecture, historic preservation, urban planning and design. I need to work on my pitch a little more. Make myself sound more exciting. I've never been very good at writing about myself. The challenge is to write something positive beyond my large readership. I'll figure it out.
