Hello All:
Finally getting a chance to sit down and write something. This morning was filled with post-Passover grocery shopping. I can't tell how good it was to buy a loaf of bread then come home and prepare a very delicious pasta lunch. I know it sounds like I've never had bread, pasta, or any wheat based product before in my life. In my defense, it was whole wheat pasta and the bread is whole grain. Be that as it may, after about ten days of no wheat based products I started daydreaming of pasta and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. For those of you in Europe who've never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, let me tell it's one of the best things on earth. I was at kosher market this morning and the place looked picked clean. Obviously the store hadn't fully restocked yet. The non-kosher markets looked much better.
Slowly, the kitchen is getting back to pre-Passover normalcy. It was really wonderful having fresh brewed coffee again this morning instead of crappy instant. Instant works in a pinch but I have to have my French press coffee in the morning. Speaking of coffee, once again I come to you from my local coffee emporium. I didn't have to do too much cleaning up last night. Mostly it was putting things away, throwing out trash, sweeping, and wiping down the counters. Not too bad. Friday I'll do a slightly more thorough cleaning.
My glee at Passover being over stems from my rather anal need for order. As I've said before I can't stand when things aren't orderly. I'm not rigid about it, I just need to be able to find things and not have to wade through all sorts of things just to get to what I need. This is the one of biggest thing I have against Passover. What starts out as a rather nice holiday ends up being so stressful and chaotic. I really don't need it or like it. So as soon as the holiday was officially over I quickly began to put things back the way they were. I'm sure it's the same way with non-Jewish holidays. I think I've just gotten the point where I simply have given up on celebrating holidays. So that's that. Enough about Passover, it's done for the year and it's time to move on.
