Decided To Take The Job

Hello Everyone: I decided to take the data entry job after doing a little research. As it turns out, the job is with a company that is known conducting political surveys. They've repositioned themselves as a research and market consulting firm. This presents me with an interesting career possibility that would make good use of my skills and background. For now, the person I'm dealing with is annoying me with his inarticulate writing skills. I'm guess that English is not his (definitely he) first language. Okay, not a problem but it does make it a little hard to understand the information I'm getting from him. I do repeat back the instructions to make sure I clearly understand what I'm being asked to do. One thing that is disconcerting is repeatedly being asked to trust them. Trust me is another way of effe you. Another thing that was disconcerting was a phrase in the Employment Agreement about not disappointing them. As if why would I go out of my way to do that? As appealing as the possibilities of this job are, I need to pay attention to anyting that triggers my suspicion. As long as the company is transparent with me, I have nothing serious to worry about. I realize that because I'm working remotely, the situation is ripe for all sorts of abuse. I know that from my previous job. I also know my own work habits and level of committment. Two things about this company provide me with a sense of security: First, it's a known and respected company. Second, this is a permenant job with better pay. I don't mind admitting that giving myself a raise was a motivator. The job coach was right, I am in a good place because all my needs are being met and I'm grateful for that. In an interesting development, the local school district got back to about an instructional assistant job I applied for. They're considering me for the job. I would still have to go through several levels of screenings just to be placed on an eligible for hire list. I'll follow through in case this new job doesn't pan out. Nothing wrong with having something in my back pocket.
