Minor Obstacle

 

Hello Everyone:

I got an answer from the lawyer I consulted with about accessing social welfare benefits.  I was not happy because he said that at the most I could receive from county social services is a couple of hundred dollars, from the general assistance fund, which would barely cover groceries.  In order to be eligible for grocery money, I can only have $100 on hand.  Well, as soon as that mystery money gets released to me, I lose my eligibility.  The reason is I'm too young and healthy.  I replied to him asking if there were any other options.  Since I have absolutely no intention of faking my citizenship status, age, and ability, I have to see what else is out there.  It's kind of a joke that county puts all these restrictions.  Finding employment is an especially difficult task right now because of the pandemic.  It was hard before the pandemic but harder now because almost no one is hiring anyone.  I have to remain positive that things will break my way.  In other news, I finally got rid of mum's wheelchair.  Somebody came to pick it up.  Unfortunately he couldn't take the gently used cane and walking frame that mum used for all of two seconds.  I could give it to the BIL but he has a barely used walking frame.  I'll get rid of them some how.  I was chatting with the Brit BF yesterday and he had some good news.  So far he has a verbal commitment from the Portuguese soccer club.  One more person has to sign off on it before they commit money.  All signs look good.  For me that could mean some nice trinkets and finally spending more time together.  All I really want is to spend more time with him in person.  The nice trinkets work for me too.  Alright, time for supper.
