What I Do All Day

Hello Everyone:

You know, every now and then some idiot will ask me what I do all day and I tell them.  I usually give them a very basic outline of my day just so said idiot will get the gist of it.  What I really should say is: I get up early in order to meditate before making breakfast for myself and mum (half of which she eats).  Then I start hear breathing treatment, ping ponging between brushing my teeth and making sure she doesn't fall asleep, somehow managing to throw on my running clothes and make my bed.  I let the carer in and go running, finally an hour and something of peace and quiet.  I come home hoping I get enough to time to sip some coffee, scroll through my phone, shower and get dressed before getting pounced on by either mum or the carer.  My goal is getting through hair, makeup, and wardrobe before noon.  Most days I'm lucky.  Lunch is usually a hurried interrupted affair.  If I'm super lucky, I get in four solid hours of writing during the day.  Dinner is another hurried affair.  Bed time is a whole ordeal with mum.  That's what I do all day.  I wish I could be one of those quarantineers who spend all day ordering take out or cooking delicious food, binge watching, shopping online but I can't.  I have no excuses for doing any of that.  Taking care of my mum is a two-person job and some day, like today, are more work than others.  Mum wasn't well today and carer 3 (the new person) had to leave early.  Fortunately, the caregiver company quickly sent a substitute to cover the shift.  That meant breaking in someone new.  The good news is no one died or went to jail and it was pretty slow.  The bad news?  Really, there isn't any.  That's good.
