Toasty But Chill
Hello Everyone:
Another toasty but chill day for me. Someone just came by with the weekly food drop, probably nothing I want to eat. Anyway, I'm really getting into this whole self care thing. I'm realizing that things like manicures and face masques are nice but the whole thing. Little by little I'm taking steps to better look after myself. The big thing is getting enough sleep. When I do get plenty of sleep, not only do feel more energized I also am less likely to snack on sugary foods. Sugar has always been a thing for me. Who doesn't like sweets, right? What I found is that when I don't get enough rest or feel particularly distressed, I reach for something sweet. It may make me feel temporarily better but I think it may trigger my headaches. I'd rather get the extra rest than the temporary spike. Also, I'm focusing on boundary setting with mum. I making it a point to tell her when it is and isn't okay for something. Every step is a step forward. Anyway, I had a lovely chat with the Brit BF today. He's get ready for a pitch meeting in a few weeks and he sent me a couple of images from an another animation project he has in the works. This one is geared more toward adults but I like his strategy, get the foot in the door first. One of the images was of female junkie that looked a little too objectified for the #MeToo era. I pointed that out to him and he said the art could be tweaked. I just hope when he gets his development deal he remembers me. I'm not holding my breathe. I know, me of little faith or just naturally cautious. Alright, time for dinner.
