Mini Vacation
Hello Everyone:
Well holiday lunch, round two, is done. It went a lot quicker today. The food and the company was okay—mostly it was us and one other person. I did manage to get up earlier this morning but still got held up, this time by a water shut down due to emergency repairs. I didn’t worry too much about coming late because lunch didn’t start on time. My original plan was to come home and blog something not about impeachment but I was too tired. Back at it tomorrow. Speaking of which I really do need to get out of bed much earlier for two reasons: One, I have grocery shopping to do and second, I really want to shower before I go to the grocery store. The last couple of days I’ve enjoyed ed sleeping in because mum hasn’t been around so I didn’t have to go through the usual daily mama drama. Really happy to rest up. Also really happy I didn’t have to do that much tidying up after dinner. When I cook or bake, I don’t leave food stains all over the place. I kind of wish Sis would take mum off my hands for a few decades. Not going happen but it’s nice idea. The positive one thing I did today was get in touch with the recruitment editor at The New Yorker. I keep seeing a job posting for a fact checker but I’m not quite sure that the salary would justify a move. Regardless of where you go in New York, it’s expensive. Regardless, I sent him an introductory letter. We’ll see if he gets back to me. I feel like I already know people at the magazine thanks to the podcast. Anyway, one thing at a time.
