Passing Over

Hello Everyone:

Another two mom-free days on tap. Actually, I think meditation has made me more tolerant, dare I say, more patient with her?  It's certainly made Passover easier to deal with. I think it's still the honeymoon phase for me but so far, so good. The weekend was pretty good. I went to sis's house for lunch on Saturday. The BIL's brother and his four children joined-his wife was nursing a back injury. The meal was kind of fun and there was tequila. The niece showed off her tasteful engagement ring. The downside the BIL-in-law's identical twin five-year-old boys were dressed alike. Great. Why do parents do that?  Almost as bad: mother-daughter and family outfits.  The food was good. We had a great time taking about wedding plans. At one point we had to pull out sis's wedding album out to settle an argument. There was a sufficient amount of mom-teasing and promises of making her behave at the nuptials. After the meal, I went home and read. Now, I get some quiet for the last days of Passover. Truth, I can't wait for 8:07pm Tuesday, when the holiday is officially over. I went grocery shopping on Thursday and stared longingly at the bread aisle. Pathetic, right?  At least this year, I finally won the coffee war. For the longest time, mom wouldn't allow whole bean coffee because they were, supposedly, not permitted on Passover. That never made sense to me because she drinks instant coffee, which is made from whole bean. This year, I showed her, in writing from an authority, that plain whole bean coffee was totally permissible. Point made, I win.  I'm really looking forward to a peanut butter and jam sandwich.
