Hello Everyone:
A good productive Monday for me. I renewed my income-based student loan repayment plan and I got most of a blog post on urban versus suburban growth. It's a long post that I've been putting off for quiet day like today. This is a quiet period so I can devote time to longer posts. These long Jewish holidays are perfect for catching on things like that. I was working for a while until I got crossed eyed. I'll finish up tomorrow and maybe have time to start a new one. One thing I'm beginning to realize with meditation is my attention span has gotten better. I find that I can focus better on what I'm doing in any given moment, whether it's writing or housework. Right now I just want to let my brain wander around. I decide to watch the last segment of The Night Of. It's a great mini-series. My brain has effectively shut down for the day. Tomorrow, I'll be refreshed and ready to go, more or less. One of the things I've learned from meditating is that it's sometimes good to let your mind wander, not be active all the time. The mind has to rest and recuperate from activity. Like the muscles in the body, the mind needs some recovery after activity. So, my recovery period is a DVD followed by a reasonably good night's sleep.
