Eventful

Hello Everyone:

Friday was pretty eventful. It started off all well and fine, you know nice, sunny, spring day. I went to the library to pick up a couple of great movies. I was reading a magazine when I got a call from mom asking me to come home right away, there was a kitchen fire. I got home as fast as I could and found mom in the hall with maintenance and security. It turned out to be a grease fire in the oven. Fortunately mom quickly turned the oven off and called Security. Someone came with a fire extinguisher and put it quickly. A maintenance person came to vacuum the floor and we got a new oven. All's well that ends well. The bellpeppers and roasted cauliflower were a total losses but we still managed to put together a good dinner. Mom told me that she used a Pan that may've had holes in it. I told that she put something under the pan to cover the holes. I was also concerned that she wasn't paying attention to what's in the oven. It's not the first thing e she's ignored something on the stove or oven. Typically she forgets to turn off the stuff. I worry. I admitted that I was concerned about leaving her alone for two weeks. The rest of the weekend was uneventful. I had a long nap yesterday, I just fell asleep after lunch. I was still tired after I got up but managed to get through a late movie. More later
