Dating Advice

Hello Everyone:

I decided to give myself a lazy day. I got up late: 7:00 am then just did whatever I wanted or needed to do, whenever I wanted to. I did do something constructive, I cleaned up my desktop and returned something to the library. Yay. Tomorrow it's back to the usual schedule. The family came over yesterday evening for dinner. It was a nice few hours. The food was plentiful and the company was tolerable. The big topic of discussion was dating advice. I have a teenage nephew and niece who are a rad chorus about dating. Those of us who have experience were glad to offer nuggets of wisdom. What troubles me were the nuggets offer up by mom, sis, and the BIL. It seemed to be more focused on the external rather than developing a relationship. Their approach is to follow a script about where to go, what to do, what to say, and what to wear. No room for admire organic way to developing a relationship. The whole thing sounded forced. I can't date according to a script. I remember when the Brit BFand I started going out, he was like a bull in a China shop. He laid out a whole plan for us that included getting married. We just let things flow naturally. The flirty messages and texts keep the relationship going. No script. Just us being us. That always works for me: just being myself and let the relationship develop on it's ownSating Advice
