Thursday May 21 Ramblings

Hello Everyone:

It's been a week of battling tech gremlins and the gremlins have not been appeased. Naughty things. Once again, I find myself complaining about the lack of a set workspace where I can just drop my things. I got into a nice conversation this morning with one of my Facebook friends over a museum plan. I had posted an article about a local fifties-era restaurant that was declared a local landmark. This friend is a fan of that period style and proposed building a museum to it. I think it would be a wonderful idea because it's such an underrated period in architecture. It would be pretty cool to have a place to celebrate the exuberant spaces and places that expresses an sense of postwar optimism.  This friend lives in Las Vegas but loves Los Angeles and is licensed to practice in Nevada and California. I suggested that either city would be a perfect place for this museum.  In other news, once again the NTHP recognized a blog post I published. It wasn't necessarily on historic preservation but it was nice to get the tap on the shoulder. This comes on the heels of the NTHP mentioning another post I put out last week on the "no fans allowed" game in Baltimore. Could this be the start of something?  As I said the other day, I'm not holding my breath.  Otherwise life is good for today. I got some chores done and mom wasn't too big of a pain. I still have things to do but for now, I'm just chilling out. I have to do the family thing this weekend, oh joy (sarcasm alert).  I can't wait to climb back into my hole. At Monday I can escape to the museum-it's a community free day. That'll be a nice break from the family thing.
