Hello Everyone:
Time for a little late Saturday night blogging. The last couple of days have been pretty status quo. I did get a really nice surprise on Thursday. The National Trust for Historic Preservation mentioned a post I published on Tuesday on the former Los Angeles Police Department Headquarters building, Parker Center. The building hasn't been used for about twenty years. A few years ago, a developer announced that he (always a he) wanted to demolish the building and place a mixed-used project instead. The Los Angeles Conservancy and the Little Tokyo Historical Society joined forces to have Parker Center designated a landmark. A procedural error, on the part of City Council, prevented designation. I sided with the Conservancy, adding that given current events in Ferguson and Baltimore, saving Parker Center can be a teaching tool for the national discussion on contemporary law enforcement. (historicpca.blogspot.com) It's the second time in two weeks that this has happened. I'm floored. This has never happened. I mean yes the NTHP has mentioned me in a tweet twice before but spaced out over a year. Now, twice in two weeks for a total of four times. I don't want to get too excited or anything like that because this tiny measure of notoriety is probably not going to lead to anything. It would be nice if it actually lead to a paying job but I'm not holding my breath. The Brit BF was pretty happy for me. So for now it's all good.
In other things, I've been think about changing my look. I'm trying to let my hair grow out, in part because of my previous shorter than usual hair cut. I'm considering a more modern look. I've been looking at assorted images and weighing each one. This change of look has been prompted by a need to refresh myself. I feel the need to this every once in a while just to keep things new. My preferred look is modern with an edge. Not following the heard, dance to my own tune kind of thing. It's not out of boredom or anything like that. I just want to keep things fresh b
