Playtime

Hello Everyone:

I had a productive day in the blogosphere, writing about a couple of interesting topics. The first was on saving buildings with difficult pasts and teaching race and social justice in architecture and urban design schools. So now I get to chill this evening.  I found myself checking out bridal things again after I said I was done again. I don't know why I've got wedding on the brain but it just won't go away.  I mean it's not like we're getting anytime soon, so you would think there's no point to it but no. It's so silly to even be looking at wedding websites or links. Speaking of relationship stuff, mom dropped one of her allegorical tales on me again. The subject was inter-marriage. She told about the son of one my cousins who's dating a non-Jewish girl and how this cousin is not happy. I dismissed as  probably not serious, besides the son is in his early twenties. Then she mentioned a long distant friend who's son married a non-Jewish girl-they divorced. I think she was trying make some about familial disapproval and how inter-faith relationships never work out. Either that or she was trying to make conversation. Whatever the case, it really didn't pay too much attention. She does this every now and then, share some allegory in hopes of imparting some life lesson. Sometimes I listen, other times (like today) I don't bother.  I haven't made up my mind about the Brit BF and vice versa. So all this wedding browsing is just playtime.
