Dinner Went Well

Hello Everyone:

Blogger is very tired today. The dinner was good and the in-laws brought flowers, nice touch. The clean up was a exhausting and yours truly went to bed a little late. So today, I'm having a low energy day.  It's more like one of those days when there isn't enough coffee in my system. About dinner, as I just wrote, it went off good. Everyone more or less behaved themselves and there was plenty to eat. The niece and teenage nephew were helpful but it was mostly me doing the clean up. Truth be told, I prefer it that way because I don't have to make idle chit chat with anyone. I'm not very good at it so I try to avoid it. Also, after the soup and salad I wasn't that hungry.  Naturally we have leftovers to tide is over for a while. The post meal clean up took a while. Even though I got most of the dishes done in between courses, there was still plenty to do and the kitchen was a huge mess. I plowed through it, as best as I could, without too much grumbling. Still it would've been nice if the niece, teenage nephew, sis and BIL stayed to help clean up. Mom's BFF offered to help but I really wasn't going to let an eighty-something year woman do dishes of clean the counters. Mom helped out as best as could, which was nice. In all, I'm done being nice for the month. Now, I just want to be left alone. Mon used up her favor quotient for the month and possibly next month. What I could really use is a message, hot bath, and a long sleep; not on that particular order.
