Happy Day After Thanksgiving. Yours truly is staying out of the malls as much as possible between now and mid-January. I hate the crowds and would prefer to just shop online. Besides, what's wrong with shopping I your pajamas. My Thanksgiving was pretty quiet. I just did my usual Thursday things and enjoyed a cappuccino later. I never could understand the shopping insanity that grips the planet between Thanksgiving and New Years. I mean people actually camp out at malls and in front of stores, sometimes for days, just to save a few pennies on whatever. Please, I'll take a nice warm bed over a cold sidewalk any day. I did brave the grocery store Wednesday and made excellent use of my weaving through traffic skills. Granny was safe. At least the coffee places were pretty calm. I was at one of the local malls last Thursday and it was already getting crazy. I came away with a nice bottle of perfume, courtesy of aunty. The Brit BF also reports that Black Friday insanity has gripped the UK. Oh well, so much for that whole "keep calm, carry on, stiff upper lip" thing. I guess when it comes to bargain hunting, that famed British reserve goes flying out the window. Such madness. The only thing I cheesed about is the library is closed today and there's a DVD I requested waiting for me. I mean, I can understand yesterday, but today? I guess the librarian and the clerks need the day to shop. Me, I'm just going to go about my day and practice mall avoidance.
