Happy Halloween. I hope you all are having a great time, safely celebrating the day dedicated to lifting the veil between the mortal and spirit realm. I'm making sure I get my fill of candy. So I finally decided to open the "charity insurance" envelope I got in the mail. It is a booklet with a list of doctors and dentists covered in my plan. At first glance, no one leapt out at me, in fact most seemed rather dubious. One place that did stand out was the nice hospital sis works at. It's close by and well-known so I'll send her an email asking her for some recommendations. There was also a listing for a dental clinic I went to a few years ago. I know and I liked them. I didn't see anything for vision care, also something I need. I suppos I should look it over more carefully. Otherwise things are pretty quiet today. I got my candy and movie for the weekend so I'm good to go. I'm still waiting to hear back from some places I applied to. I'm hoping for the best but not expecting it. In the meantime, the Brit BF and I were talking yesterday and he alluded to some birthday surprise. He also asked me if I had anything planned and I told no because previous experience has left me bitterly disappointed. He replied that he might have to change that. Fine, let him try, it can't be any worse than the lame efforts my family has made in the past. The Brit BF is fresh blood so he can't disappoint, yet. I'm trying not to be so cynical but past history has proven otherwise. No doubt mom will keep insisting on doing something for my birthday and I'll keep shooting her down. I specifically do not want her or sis planning something that will, without a doubt, be disappointing. Anyway that my rant for now.
