Finally, peace throughout the realm. Mom is staying with sis for part of the Jewish New Year and I have the place to myself. Yesterday, I read over dinner undistrurbed by the endless chatter and this morning I didn't have to give the weather report. I didn't think that going through my emails could be such a nice activity. I know that sounds really strange but I can appreciate mundane activities like going through emails better when I'm not forced to listen to mindless chattering. I spent all day yesterday playing charwoman, cleaning the house and doing laundry in anticipation of the holiday. I was so exhausted by get end of the day that after dinner I just plopped myself in front of the television to watch whatever was on. I ended up watching a bunch of comedies that ranged from mildly amusing to just pointless. I like situation comedies when they're clever but not ones that "one joke wonders." I'm more rested today and plan to pay a visit to the blogosphere later on. I don't have to be at Sis's until 8:15p.m so I have some time to kill. I chatted with part-time BF and he agreed to come with me to Sis's house this evening. He'll act as my wingman/ cover so I don't have to endure a set-up with divorced dad. It still feels like a set-up or maybe I'm just misreading the situation. Either way, all I have to do is just be polite. Besides there'll be liquor so it'll just make everyone and everything more tolerable. For now I'm enjoying a warm sunny Thursday without housework or a pile or laundry to do. Nothing like a little peace and quiet to put one in a good place.
