Yesterday, I ended up working at a nearby Starbucks. Someone told that this particular branch was not as crowded as the one In The Original Farmars Market. It was a little busy because it's near a local popular medium sized museum but I was still able to find a place to sit and work. The only downside was a homeless woman making disgusting body noises. I moved away from her as best I could. The manager came over and politely asked to either use the bathroom or leave. Eventually, he called building security who came and escorted her out. Sad. On an amusing note, I went up to the counter to get a cup of coffee and had two male baristas practically fall all over themselves to fill my order. Normally, I'm flattered when men argue over me but in this case, I just wanted my coffee. The whole nomadic thing just highlights the fact that I need a set place to work. Any set place will. Home is a good choice but I'd end up being a shut-in. The problem with working at home is there are too many distractions. On the other hand, if it's too hot, raining, or I'm just plain lazy, I have a permenant space. This is really frustrating. The coffee place set up is okay but there's no room to spread out and there's the expectation of buying something, which can add up quickly. Either BF#2 is going have to hurry back and set up an L.A office or I'm going to have to find some workable situation.
