A lovely Monday today. I know, that sounds odd, a lovely Monday. In this case, lovely as in just quiet; no pre-holiday mania. Besides I'm starting off the week with a fresh cut, fresh color, manicure/pedicure, and new glasses. If that doesn't put a spring in my step, then I just need a better spring. I never thought I'd get excited over new glasses. I first got glasses in primary school and just took it I stride. Later on, I got contact lenses. I always had so-so frames, whatever was the least expensive. I recently ordered a new pair of reading glasses from this company-Warby Parker- that makes and sells vintage-type frames. I read about them in an old issue of Vanity Fair and liked them. I recently placed my first order with them and received on Friday. I love them. It sounds silly to excited over trivial things like a cut, color, mani/pedi, and new glasses but sometimes it's the trivial things that can put a smile on my face. Mom already accused me this morning of not being able to appreciate anything. She should talk. We just don't always appreciate the same things. Whatever. Anyway, all of this reminds me that I have to send my Brit BF some new pictures to show off my "new look." It's more like a tweaked version of the way I normally look. I guess the next thing to tweak is the make up and get some new clothes. Now if I only had someplace to regularly off. Hopefully that will come soon.
