I would like to share with you some information about a worthy cause deserving your attention. The Mount Carmel Rehab Center in South London is a non-judgemental, non-profit alcohol-addiction treatment facility for in/out patients. The center emphasizes abstinence-based treatment using the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Each person seeking treatment is given individualized wholistic attention and, when necessary, referred to an outside mental health professional. The center not only treats drug and alcohol addiction but also non-chemical addictions such as food, exercise, and gambling. I learned about this facility this morning over the Twitter feed, checked out the website, and liked what I read. To that end, I'd like to pass along this fund/conscious raising alert. Julia Kawecki is planning to walk the length of Hadrian's Wall in honor of her sister, who succumbed to her addictions.
