For those of you in the United States, Happy Memorial Day. Take sometime away from your picnics, barbecues, and other activities and thank a service person. They have one of the most difficult jobs of all, standing at the ready, protecting our freedoms everyday. To everyone in Europe who participated in yesterday's elections, I say good job. I want to especially single out readers in the Ukraine for elected a new president and remind you, and everyone else, that your political, leaders must now prove worthy of your vote. Don't expect miracles overnight. I've found it useful to set the bar for government officials extremely low, this way when the editable disappointment sets in, I'm not too depressed.
So what's going on today? Not a whole lot. Apparently no one in my immediate circle is big on barbecues and picnics. One year, though I did go to a baseball game with Sis, the BIL, and two out the three children. The home team won and a good time was had by all. How typical American is that? Spending Memorial Day at a baseball game. There were even fireworks to celebrate the game victory. The last couple years or so has been pretty quiet. There was Memorial Day 2012 when I spent the time working on my thesis. This year, I just plan on having a very mellow day doing whatever the mood guides me. Right now my mood is telling me to just take it easy and enjoy the day. I hope you do too, whatever your mood guides you to do.
