What's Next?
Hello Everyone:
I got a little lazy today. I planned to register for the community college teacher certificate program but decided to put it off a little longer. It's that I don't want to do it, it's just there's no major rush to sign up for the winter quarter/semester. All I have to do is make sure I'm signed up three days before classes start. I think I can do that. I think what I'll do is spend part of Sunday taking care of that. In the meantime, I got a couple of pieces of good news. First, my rent isn't going up or going down. Very happy about that. I figured that would happen based on my own reliable research of the rental market and not asking a friend. I also requested rental assistance from the city and am currently awaiting a decision. If I get it, it would mean receiving 80-percent of my rent every month for three months at a time. I can live with that. The second piece of good news I got today is the Brit BF is coming for a two-week visit next month, for sure. I'm very excited about that because I haven't seen him, in-person, in a very long time. Then the panic set in. He'll need a place to stay and I don't exactly have enough room. Then I thought, maybe he's coming with one or both of his sisters, who handle the business side of creative work, and they'll stay in a nearby hotel. Staying with his former roommate is out of the question because the former roommate and his partner are expecting a baby soon. Then there's the whole issue of meeting my family. Sis already made it clear that she's not interested in meeting him because he's not Jewish. Her almost exact words were I'm not acknowledging him. I'm going to need some guidance on this matter and I know who to ask. This one is a tricky situation that requires delicacy. Anyway, the best part of his trip is that one of my long-time wishes will come true, we're spending my birthday together. Hmm,someone once said "good things come in threes." My rent remaining steady, the Brit BF is confirmed for a two-week visit, and now, what's next?
