Building A Repport
Hello Everyone:
It's finally raining and it's about time. I walked home during the brief downpour,I keep an umbrellea in my bag. My shoes were the only thing that got wet, if even that. At least it didn't rain during class time otherwise the boys would've been nuttier than usual. Really, it's only a few boys that, according to one person I chatted with today, suck all the air out of the room. A good way to describe the situation. I've been made aware that there are plans in motion to develop and implement some sort of a strategy. It just takes time because the people in charge of making the plan have to gather and evaluate the data before anything can really be done. Great but we need something now because if these few boys continue to take up all the class' oxygen, it'll lead to chaos. In other work-related news, I decided to implement a new rapport building strategy today, have lunch with the boys. As the lone female in the class, it can be challenging to get a group of small boys to understand that I'm there for a specific purpose and to pay attention to me. I figure if I spend some time with them, get to know them, they'll be more accepting of me. I think it's important to spend a little extra time with them because they've had at least a year of missed learning because of the pandemic. I've already got a few boys on my side, now I want the rest. Now that the big Jewish holidays are over, I can make some headway with them. Fortunately the lead teacher is supportive of my idea. I think it'll work.
