Some Convincing

Hello Everyone: What a day. It started off nicely then went kind of off the rails at work. The boys were very energetic and there were tears. Nothing major, just the usual schoolyard stuff. Thank goodness the day is finally over. Their morning teacher kept them back again for being disruptive but fortunately it was too long, like Friday. Friday, the boys were being so disruptive that their morning teacher kept them back long enough that they missed lunch and a chunk of their lunch recess. Fortunately it got sorted it out because no one wants to deal with hungry and angry children and, today, the boys got their lunch and recess. The administration has given us some guidance on how to deal with the real problem children but I think some of them need further evaluation. Hopefully tomorrow will be more mellow. Meanwhile, I'm looking for something else. A good opportunity landed in my inbox for an architectural historian. I like the job I have now but am open to other opportunities, especially if it's related to what I studied in school. A thought just occured to me, I use the phrase I like my job a lot as if I'm trying to convince myself that it's a good thing. I don't have to do that much convincing because there are more positives than negatives. Maybe I'm trying to convince myself that teaching is what I need to do in life. I'm not bad at it; the more training and experience I get, the better I am. Still, I'm not sure that elementary school is my thing. I'm much better with older grades and university level because by that point, the students slightly easier to deal with and understand that there are consequences to their actions. Primary school take more effort. Fortunately the lead teacher, the J. Crew model TA, and I all support each other. Things'll work out in the end, it just takes time.
