Working For A Living
Hello Everyone:
I finally made my contact tracer phone debut and it wasn't great and it wasn't bad. I just had two call and neither one was straight forward but I made it through the calls. Tomorrow is another day. Mostly I sat around catching up on some reading. Truth is I still would like to do something else related to the cause that doesn't involve talking to another human. For now I've reconciled myself to the phones. In the meantime I picked up the permenant job hunt today. I great career opportunity landed in my inbox for an entry=level architectural historian position at an architecture and preservation firm. It's a firm I've heard about and know at least one of the founding partners (he was one of my professors) and some of the employees. I sent off my resume, writing sample, and references, hoping for the best. The best is an interview. Knowing the one of the founding partners is no guarantee of an interview but it does slightly enhances my chances. The contact tracer job runs until the end of the year and then it's on to another job assignment. The main thing I like about the job is the money. Nothing wrong with that. The money is good and it allows me to do things like buy groceries, pay the bills, and have enough left over for a nice haircut. I just need to keep a close eye on things. I don't mind admitting the only reason I took this job is for the money but I'm starting to settle in to the job. It's actually not as manic anymore. It's become more routine than anything else. That's ok too.
