The Universe Listened

Hello Everyone: It seems that the universe heard my fresh complaints about Sis and BIL because I got a text from a mutual acquaintence this morning, inviting me to a meal this weekend. Sis declined for whatever reason I don't care about but I accepted. Going to someone's house in the COVID era now means checking on the house mask policy and disclosing your vaccination status. Also, yesterday evening the supervisor said each of the work groups has work one weekend, either day. Even though I told him I'd prefer to work Sundays because it's an eight hour day, not 12 hours like on Saturday. I can use that as cover to get out of the occasional weekly get together. I knew this job would greatly benefit me. It's not that I don't like getting together with the family, I do enjoy my nephews' company, it's just Sis and BIL can be very overbearing at times. Sis has this serious holier than thou streak that can come off as downright insulting at times. BIL fanices himself the head of the household and therefore everyone, including me, has to live by his edicts. Well, he's the head of his household, not mine. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing other people this weekend. I do have a meal committment at Sis and BIL in the coming week but I plan to be home and signed into work by 4:00PM. Another dull day at work as about to come to a close.
