Phone Debut

Hello Everyone: A couple of good work opportunities fell into my lap on Thursday. The first one is a job I have opportunity to be part of a test group focused on data entry and analysis, no phones. The supervisor was was looking for interested people and I nominated myself. I'm guessing the hours and the pay are the same but I don't care. A chance to do something I feel more confident about makes me happy. It's really a no lose situation: Whether or not the test group works out, I still have a job. I'll talk more with the supervisor. The second opportunity came my way through a professional social network. It's for a writer with a multi-national architecture and planning company with a local office. Of course I pouced at the chance to realize a long term goal. Slowly but surely I'm putting myself out other and eventually something will stick. In the meantime, I have my job that allows to live a more comfortable life. Speaking of which, I make my phone debut tomorrow and strangely, I'm not anxious about it. I'm scheduled to spend 1-1/2 hour taking inbound calls. I can do that. Anyway, it's time to finally get in the water. I don't anticipate getting a lot of calls because the school year is almost over. I'm thinking the pace'll pick up in mid-July when it's time to get ready for the new term. By then one of a few things could happen: I get good on the phones, I'm permenantly assigned to the data team, or I move on to the career job. Either way, it all works out to my benefit and that's all that really matters.
