Starting A New Assignment

Hello Everyone: I was back on the blogger beat today. With nothing in my call quene, I had ample time to start on a new post. Even though I'll be training with a new work group tomorrow, I should still have some time to write. The most important thing is I won't be sitting idle. Admittedly, get paid to be idle is pretty sweet but the appeal lasts only for so long. Now I'm bored. I've gone from being super anxious about the phones to acceptance to boredom over the lack of calls. I finally got myself to the point where I just have plunge right and take calls from people and help them the best I can, now nothing. At least by going to the data group, I'll feel more useful. More important, I'll feel like I'm actually earning my paycheck, not that sitting around doing other things and getting paid for it is awful. The supervisor sent me the powerpoint of the manuel I'm supposed to train from for the new group. The whole process looks very straight forward. Basically, my job is to approve or deny COVID tests based on five information points. The information points must all match and the tests must be the correct one. If everything matches up, then a case is good to go. If not, an email get sent why the test was denied and how to fix it. That I can definitely do. The main thing is I'll have something job-related to do with my time otherwise I can just fill it with other useful to me things. I'm looking forward to starting this new work group. The supervisor made sound like it's a lot more work than the phones but it's all relative. Of course I say that now and watch I'll get totally overwhelmed by the amount of details. This is coming from the person who thought contact tracing would just be telling people to get a COVID test and making appointments for at school facilities. Anyway, I'm sure it'll work out.
