Pet People
Hello Everyone:
I a rather nice weekend. What made so nice was the weather was being cooperative, unlike last weeek's sudden gust of wind, but my allergies were bothering me. Yet, it didn't stop me from doing anything I wanted to do. I did go over to Sis's house for lunch, again. It was more or less the same old, same old except they had a house guest, a four-legged house guest. Nephew #1 was dog sitting for a friend and the big surprise was Sis and The BIL agreed to it. My sister isn't a pet person unless it's a low maintenance pet. I was expecting a junkyard dog but was pleasantly surprised by a friendly, somewhat affectionate, fairly well-behaved poodle-mix. It was all good and I think Sis took a liking to the dog. I know if mum were still around, she'd avoid their house until the dog was gone. She'd also be pretty amazed that I was okay with it given I used to be scared of dogs and was bitten by one. I think I just naturally grew out of it and learned to be okay with dogs wanderjng around. I still get a little uneasy because of the bite but to the same degree. When I run in the park or elsewhere, I do keep an eye out for dogs on leashes simply because I need to. Some dogs are cool with people running or walking others just bark. The one thing I don't like is when their humans bring their non-service pets into markets and restaurants. There are signs posted outside the food places, from the Department of Health, that say no pets allowed unless it's a service pet with a specially marked harness. It's like the rules are someone else, not them. Whatever. Anyway, tomorrow is a new week with new things to think about
