Will Make An Effort

Hello Everyone:

Today was a productive day in the blogosphere. I edited my debate blog and posted the update, then finished my two-part series on America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places. I added s few comments on yesterday's debate. In a word, it was nasty.  Both candidates really flung the mud at each other. It was a train wreck. There's one more debate and who knows what'll happen. I do know that I need to get out more. Both mom and the Brit BF really want me to get out and meet people. Do they know how much I hate being social. I have to force myself to be civil when I'm in social situations. People annoy me because they just want to make chit chat and I hate that.  Most social situations are plain dull. Once in odd while they can be entertaining, not often but once in a while. I think my aversion to social situations comes from not wanting to pretend to be someone I'm not-a likeable person. I'm not one of those people who's obsessed with getting people to like me. I don't care if anyone like me. I prefer to be myself and if no one likes me for me then tough.  I also think chit chat is a waste of time because all you learn is name, rank, and serial number. Then there's all the judging that people do. Judge your outfit, your look, what you do and so on. Ridiculous. However, I will make an effort to be social.
