Hello Everyone:
Remember I shared about a possible interview on Thursday with a local online journal? One of the editors wanted to meet with that day but flaked on confirming the time and location. I emailed her the next day to express my interest in the job and let her know that I could make myself available the following week. She got back to me today, saying she was available on Tuesday. Great. I replied asking her to let me know the available times and the location. Fantastic, I hope it pans out. I really don't deal well with flakes. In other good news, this art history professor in Texas, who was using my thesis for an article, sent me a LinkedIn message to let me know the article has been accepted for publication. Yay. I get a footnote and bibliographic mention. Of course I plan to let everyone from grad school know. Not like I want to brag (much) or anything like that. Really, it's not like my name is in the byline but still it's nice to get some notice. So, yay, it's all good. The Brit BF was happy for me on both conuts. He so supportive of my efforts as I am of his. I may just marry him after all. The weekend did veer off the road a little when I had to explain sexting to my mom. Thank you to the aptly named Anthony Wiener. Geez, is it November 9 yet? This election cycle has been the worst ever. I cannot even begin to describe how ridiculous, repugnant, pathetic it is. That's just the clean way to describe the mountain range of poo that is this presidential election cycle. Thank goodness his long national nightmare is almost over. On to more pleasant things, it's been an otherwise chill weekend. I got rained on twice, Friday and today. Came home looking like a wet rat. Let's hope I can get through a run tomorrow morning without getting soaked.
