Here's an odd situation. This morning I applied to a local magazine for a staff writer position and someone got back to me a few hours later, asking if I was available this evening or tomorrow morning to speak to them. Hurray. This is the fastest anyone has gotten back to me about an interview. I replied that I was available this evening could someone please give me the exact location so I don't go wandering all over the place, knocking on every door. I left out that last part. Anyway, here it is, almost 5:00 pm and no one has gotten back to me. I could still do a phone interview, which is fine by me or something else. So now what do I do? I don't have any other way to contact the person who sent me the email. I'm guessing that this person got very busy and hasn't had time to check his/ her email. It happens. In the meantime, I can find other constructive things to do with my time. It's not like I had any major plans this afternoon other than to get my hair trimmed. My hair can wait one more week and that's it. I also got some things done around the house. However, I would really like to know what happened. I can make myself available next, at different times. I shared all this with mom and the Brit BF. They're both excited and just as mystified about why I haven't received confirmation about an appointment. I don't have a lot of patience for thus nonsense. Yes, it's frustrating for me because here I am, interested in a job I feel confident about, I want to meet with whoever is in charge and nothing. However, I can't spend the time dwelling on someone else's forgetfulness. I definitely will take the Brit a
BF's suggestion and register with a couple of temp agencies and finally fill out those applications on my desktop.
