Sunday Catch Up

Hello Everyone:

A mellow Sunday evening. Perfect ending to a mellow weekend.  I had a nice Skype chat with the Brit BF. Mostly we talked about the upcoming award season and how it seems that most of the acting/writing/director nominees will be white. Of course Hollywood will pat itself on the back and nominate a person of color. It's a problem that require a top-down-bottom-up solution. It also requires the executives to take risks and look beyond the bottom line. It's something that won't be solved with a few token gestures. Anyway, I managed to dodge a family get together with the in-laws. According to mom, I didn't miss anything. In fact, I was smart to stay home. Mom told me she was bored silly. I don't feel like I missed anything either. I got to hang out in my pajamas most of the morning, read, and just do whatever I wanted to do.  It's good. The in-laws left this evening, back to Florida for them.  Tomorrow it's back to the blogger universe for me. I already have articles lined up. On the agenda this year, more photographic content and setting up a website. I'd like to learn how to do it myself so I don't have to pay someone else to mind it.  I like the Brit BF said, I'm a one person band. He's idea of being successful on the web is getting to the point where I can earn money doing nothing. That's not me, resting on my laurels. I like being able to sit in my work space and tap away on the trusty laptop. Occasionally getting out to travel around. That works.
