Hello Everyone:
I'm watching the documentary Wolfpack. It's the story of six brothers and one sister who are locked in their run down housing project apartment by their parents with rather vague notions on how to parent. The brothers finally had enough of their cloistered life and started going out. The mother is such a weak person, incapable of doing anything without her husband's approval. The father is a total idiot and an alcoholic. He wants his children to be who and what they are-whatever that means. These brothers have no social skills, some formal education courtesy of their mom, no concept of the outside world. In one sense it's a real whole new world. I think they enjoyed the contact but what is interesting is that they all dresses the same: black suits, white shirts, and sunglasses. I don't like the parents. They're so self-indulgent. The father refuses to work because he doesn't want to be part of the system. Instead, they live off of welfare without any intention of bettering their situation. Instead, they deliberately live in poverty as a form of rebellion. What kind of rebellion is that? I would be surprised if Social Services intervened but I'm not. The oldest son got completely free, found a job and seems to be on the road to functional. The other brothers are making their way to functional. The parents are hopeless. The daughter seems to have a cognitive development issue that the parents don't want to deal with. The mother seems to be getting out and the father seems be losing control. The mother is still an idiot but there's hope for her. The father is a lost cause. It's great to see the brothers and the mother breaking free. At least all is not lost.
