New Year's Eve Mood

Hello Everyone:

For those of you celebrating, Happy New Year. A new year, which means new possibilities. I've sort of given up on all that optimistism. Too much disappointment. It's hard to get excited when you know that the next 365 days are going to be no different then the last 365 days or the ones before that. The exciting thing will be if things actually change for the better.  By better, I mean meaningful work and I finally start to get my life in order. Since prior history has shown me that none of that will happen, I have no expectations that things will change. Okay, I could be wrong. I just took a well timed phone call from he Brit BF, who never fails to put a smile on my face.  He's still up after working an on-call security job at a restaurant that was holding a party. So what am I doing to ring in the New Year. I am watching 'Mad Max Fury Road.'  No rom-cons for me. I'm not in a light mood.  Another year, another year of more of the same old, same old.
