Fourth of July Gratitude List

Hello Everyone:

Happy Fourth of July to my American Readers.  WE BROKE 1,000.  Hurray, break out the champagne and the balloons.  Thanks so much for all your support.  I can't do this without.  I'll keep writing and hopefully you'll keep reading.

Today, the United States celebrates it's 237th birthday.  We're a young country.  Being an American by birth, I have many things to be grateful for:

1. I live in a country that celebrates individual liberty
2. I can chose to worship or not worship whatever religion I please
3. I live in a country where the circumstances of one's birth is not a determinant of one's life
4. I live in a country where I can stand on a soap box and speak my peace without the fear of the midnight knock on the door
5. I live in a country where a person can determine their own destiny
6. I live in a country where anyone from any part of the world can come live openly and proudly
7. I live in a country where regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or gender preference, ability, religion, everyone is equal
8. I live in a country where the transition of power is determined through the ballot box not at gunpoint
9. I live in a country that takes pride in being dysfunctional
10. I live in a country where civil discourse still reigns
11. Our armed forces who are on duty night and day protecting our security and liberties

Mostly I am grateful for being able to fly my own flag, my friends, and family.  Thank you United States of America
