Keep Calm Carry On, Stiff Upper Lip
Hello Everyone:
Well still no word from the recruiter about a potential new opportunity. I suppose I should get in touch with her to find out what's going on. Frankly, I feel like I've gone as far as I can with the healthcare staffing company and the school job is looking much more attractive, which it is. It's close enough that I can walk to work and I would get what I want besides the regular paycheck. What I want is a steady job with regular pay and training to be a teacher. That last part could serve me very well when I pursue the community college teacher training program. It's all in service towards my goal. As far as the hourly pay goes, even if it's a little less than what I'm used to making, it's better than nothing at all. The Brit BF and I were commisserating a bit today over that having to wait for people to respond. He's still waiting for a couple of studios--Disney and a studio in the United Kingdom--to get back to him about his animation pitches. I have to admire the way he keeps a positive outlook on things. I'm sure it must be driving him a little crazy waiting for any word on his proposals but, ever the Brit, "Keep calm, carry on," stiff upper lip and all that. I'm trying to do that as well. I really can't dwell too much on the what ifs. What is driving me mad right now is the boilers in my building because I have no heat. I swear they pre-date my building. I spoke with someone in maintenance and he told me that the boilers have been working overtime because everyone wants heat. It's winter and it's cold, you think people want heat in their apartments. I'm sitting here wearing a warm jacket because I can't walk around in short sleeves because my apartment has heat whenever the boilers are in a good mood. Please insert eyeroll.
