Sudden Job Interview
Hello Everyone:
I applied for the contact tracer job I saw on LinkedIn yesterday and, surprise, I have an interview set up for tomorrow afternoon. Now that's something I wasn't expecting at all. I really thought my resume would just end up in the void and the contact tracing company would get around to me whenever. It would be nice to get this job and it doesn't look like it would be too mind numbing for me. It seems like it would be a lot of administrative work. I can handle that. One good thing, it would take some of the stress off waiting around for the teacher training program to get to me. I look at it this way if I get this job, it will give me a steady source of income that I can use to further my plan of getting my teaching credentials and other things. Also, it would give me some cushioning while I look for more long term work. The way I see it, this just a temporary gig because the number of COVID cases are going down (for now) and the number of people getting vaccinated is going up. This is all good news and means that that by late summer, early fall, life could return to previous levels of normalcy. More important,at least for me, I can move on to bigger and better things that interest me. Yes, it's all about me. Who else, right? Anyway, it'll be interesting to hear what the person I'm meeting with has to say about the company and the position. Most important for me is what sort of technical support do they provide. I'm looking for some sort of allowence to set up broadband service in the house. Sure, why shouldn't someone else pay for it. Another thing I'm looking for is if I can do the work remotely. I'm still not one hundred percent comfortable about going into an office until I've been vaccinated, whenever my turn is. Maybe if I get this job, I can move up the vaccine waiting list. I should know a little more tomorrow.
