Sorted Out

Hello Everyone: Okay, I got everything straightened out with the contact tracer job. I spoke with my HR Company contact person, a trainer, and we resolved to start fresh next week. That's actually a good thing because it'll give me ample time to set up my work laptop, drop in on some sessions, and digest the written material. Even better, get set up with the broadband service. In the meantime, I just applied for a permanent job at a local museum. The job is a museum educator, right in line with my stated teaching goal. One of the things I remember from spending time, in pre-COVID days, at museums was the employees were not as stressed as employees at other workplaces. Now I could be deluding myself but it seems that working in museum is a less stressful work environment than, say, an office. Maybe it's the work on display that make people more relaxed. The educator job is at a local museum dedicated to all things automotive. Now I know very little about cars but I do know how cars shaped Southern California. Whatever else I can learn. The downside is that it's part time but it would be a permanent source of income and I could see myself using it as springboard to the career I want: one that makes the highest and best use of my skills and interests. The bonus here, the museum I applied is within walking distance. How cool is that? For now, I still plan to keep the contact tracer job because I'm already committed to that but it is a temp job and I need to keep an eye out for any permanent. Nothing wrong with that. I'm especially eager to find a museum educator job because the museums are opening up with restrictions. I can deal with the PPEs and the manic sanitizing but the remote work does lose its charm after a while. I just need a dedicated work place. Anyway, I need to eat.
