School Dazed
Hello Everyone:
A nice and quiet start to the week. I had to nip by Sis's house with some Mum mail for the BIL. We chatted for a few minutes and then I went on my way. I started the application for this teacher training program. It's pretty straight forward I just have to upload my resume and submit it. The BIL gave me a good suggestion, contact some of the local schools and see if I could put my name for an assistant's job next term. It's a good idea in terms of getting experience and paying for things like exam fees. Of course he pitched the religious schools. That's where I started and for the most part, they were ok. The first school I worked at was a small school where everyone was friendly with each other. A nice community school but not very good about paying the staff and faculty on time and offering benefits. That was then and things may have changed for the better. The second religious school I worked at was the one where the head of the lower school (preK-5) is the Queen Bee--I don't mean the insect that makes honey. Well organized but the office politics and the parents were too much. Fortunately, they're not the only schools in town. Truth is I'm not picky about what type of school--public or private--I mostly want the experience and the paycheck. Nothing too demanding, right? I told the BIL that I've been getting a lot of postings lately, which is good, but it can be overwhelming. The upside about working in religious school is all the days off. I can get with that, especially if its paid time off. I doubt that but it would nice. Anyway, time to make dinner
