Still Waiting

Hello Everyone:

I'm supposed to be in the middle of a blog post but my laptop is being temperamental again.  This happens once in an odd while but it's so annoying.  The cursor moves around to where I don't need it to be and every little brush of the keyboard saves it. The last part isn't so bad except when I'm in the middle of a sentence and it takes forever, like now.  The result is I have to wait an agonizingly long time until it finally uploads so I can go back and write some more.  I think slow upload has something to do with spotty connection in the house. Hopefully, soon, that'll change.  I have a second phone interview tomorrow with someone about the contact tracing job.  If all goes well, I'll have a steady income that will cover WiFi service for the house.  The local carrier has a low cost program that I want to look into.  That's something I can do until I can afford upgraded service.  The person I spoke to on Thursday suggested I review my resume and why I want to be a contact tracer.  The why is the easy part for me, the BIL and Sis.  I plan to have my resume up on the screen so I can look at it while I'm speaking to the person.  It's a phone interview so I can do that just like I can wear my pajamas, no one's going to know.  Changing the subject, I want to say a few things about the conversation I had with the Brit BF about the spouse/fiancé visa.  It's one way to enter the country, get engaged to or marry a citizen.  This method has been used by a lot of people for good and bad.  The good is the couple are genuinely in love and want to make a life for themselves.  The one needing the visa has a sufficient income source so as not to be a public charge.  The bad are scammers.  Citizens who marry foreigners who just want lawful residency status.  They get the citizen to sponsor them in, then steal the money and disappear.  Fortunately the Brit BF is the former, not the latter.  I have no reason to suspect that he's trying to pull a scam.  He's already aware that I can't sponsor him in and planned for it.  I have a friend who's looking to get permanent residency.  If she asks, I'll tell her the same thing I told the Brit BF, I'll be happy to write a character reference but that's it.  In the case of the Brit BF, I have a feeling that at some point, we'll have to meet with someone from immigration to answer questions about our relationship.  I'm not worried about now but it's a possibility.  In meantime, I'm still waiting for the draft to upload.
