Something To Work Toward

Hello Everyone: I had a slightly empowering moment this morning paying the utility bill. It feels really good to take care of the bills myself. The next thing I need to do is really get on track with taking the teaching credentialing exam. The hurdle here is paying for the exam. I set up an account on a website that offers free access to study materials and I found a study book on Amazon. I'm hoping to arrange for an exam fee waiver. I'm not letting this one go. I emailed the state credentialing board about it. If the answer is yes, then I plan to fill out the form and send it in. If approved, I want to schedule a date to take two out of the three parts as soon as possible. The plan is to start with the reading and writing portions, my stronger subjects, first before moving on to the math section. Having a hard deadline will motivate me to set aside time every day to study. An open ended timeline doesn't work for me. Part of setting aside time to study will mean re-arranging my schedule. I can do that. At least having something to work for will help with the lockdown boredom. Who isn't bored out of there minds by now. I like having a purpose, something to look forward to every day. This is why I make out a daily agenda for myself. When I write stuff down, I'm more likely to remember and do it. Yes, things sometime happen that throw me off schedule. I just acknowledge it, readjust, and move on. That happened a lot when mum was alive. Sometimes her illness would throw a huge wrench in my day. She's not here and now it's all my own sheer laziness. I really need to put an end to it. A work in progress.
