Whatever Works
Hello Everyone:
Today was a rather nice day. By nice day, I mean I wasn't ready to throttle someone. The older carer (the new person) came today and the vibe was decidedly more mellow than with the chatty carer. I think the reason for it is that she has more experience with the caregiver company. The chatty carer is still new to the company and previously worked in an institutional setting, with dementia patients. Thus, she's used to doing things by the book and waiting to be told what do from someone higher up. The older carer is a little more intuitive. Anyway, the chatty carer is back tomorrow and then she's off for the Fourth of July. Thank goodness, I could really use a break from her. Yes, she's good at what she does but she doesn't have to drive mum and I insane. Speaking of mum, the Xanax or, as I call them the happy pills, really work. They make me happy because mum takes them and is out like a light for a while. When she wakes up, she's in a better mood. They make her happy because the control her anxiety issues. She only takes half of a pill but it's enough. I'm all for it. I still think a daily glass of wine, yoga, and meditation would be a better option but with all the medications she takes and her lack physical fitness, maybe not. Whatever works, right?
