No Sign Of Intelligent Life
Hello Everyone:
I found myself getting really annoyed by mum and the chatty carer today over laundry. I try to plan out my day so I have a very structure to it. I understand that sometimes, like recently, my day doesn't go according to plan. Things happen, I get it but this was not one of those days. I came home from my daily run and was in the process of getting dressed when mum called me into her room to find out if I had planned to do any laundry. I told her I had no plans for it but the chatty carer jumped in (as usual) to drone on about mum needing clean pajamas, sheets, and towels. I so hate it when she drones on about everything, like her opinions matter. They really don't matter nor am I interested in her family and friends. I really don't care what her husband, children, mum, et cetera do or don't do. It has no real impact on my day. That aside, it irritated me that she insisted that I do mum's laundry, like she's only who really cares about mum and her needs. Mum also annoyed me because she didn't say anything to me about laundry yesterday evening, waiting until today to tell me. Actually have the chatty carer convey the request to me because it's to beneath her to directly ask if I had time in my day to do her laundry. Of course, the chatty carer hasn't bothered to ask me to show her where the laundry room is and how to use the machines. Mustn't take her away from watching whatever nonsense is on her streaming platform. The new carer is just as chatty but in a non-sequitur. Basically, I tell her something and she goes off on some tangent that has no relationship to anything I just said. Where's mum in all this? Hiding out as usual, too intimidated to say anything to them because she's scared of damaging their fragile egos and making my sister mad. What a load of crap. If the caregivers have such a fragile ego that one wrong look will send them packing, then they're in the wrong business. If my sister gets mad because mum is "ungrateful" for the useless help, then that's her problem. I swear I was muttering to myself today that any sign of intelligent life is obviously not a requirement to work for this company. I just try not have any interaction with anyone as long as I'm trapped in the house with them. Less stress
