Grateful For A Quiet Weekend

Hello Everyone:

It’s Sunday evening, the end of a very welcomed quiet weekend.  I finally went to the hair salon on Thursday. So happy about that. I waited three very long months just to sit in a chair and have someone give me a very nice cut. I took some photos and sent it to mum and the Brit BF, both of whom approved of the new look. The interesting thing about the experience was mum’s attitude. The salon I go to doesn’t charge a lot for a cut, at least for the city I live, despite or inspire of that mum usually gives me a hard about the price. This time, no because of the virus. I think that once I explained the precautions salons had to take and my BIL’s experience with the virus, she wisely concluded that the “chop shops” and their no appointment necessary philosophy was no longer a viable option.  I pretty much got fed up with them. Let’s just say, they outlived their usefulness. Anyway, Friday was the Senegalese carer’s last with us. She’s going back to school and would be available at night. Too bad. She was actually quite nice and I had someone to speak French with. She’s being replaced by a new person. Great, another new person I have to break in. Mum and I spoke over dinner that evening and I told her I have to insist she take a more pro-active approach to dealing with her carers. It doesn’t work when I have to give over a chunk of my to supervising them and doing elements of their job while she hides in her room. I also told that she needs to speak with chatty carer about her overbearing manner. It’s too much and my feeling is that if the chatty carer doesn’t change her attitude, she can find another house to work. Anyway, I’m ready to sleep.
